What is the data warehouse of the 2010 Agricultural Census?
The data warehouse of the 6th General Census of Agriculture contains a wealth of detailed information
on the structure of Italian agricultural and livestock holdings, broken down to municipal level. The period of
data is 24 October 2010.
What does the data warehouse of the 2010 Agricultural Census contain?
Statistics are organized into two main themes: data relating to the holding and data relating to the municipality
of location of land/farms. Data relating to the holding are divided into 6 sub-levels:
structure of farms, crops, livestock, labour, aother activities and time series which allow to compare the main variables
with the three previous agricultural censuses.
Data relating to the municipality of location of land/farms are divided into 2 sub-levels:
Land use by agricultural unit location and livestock by agricultural unit location.
How does the data warehouse of the 2010 Agricultural Census work?
The system is based on OECD data warehouse technology (OECD.Stat), a software platform and
statistical services also adopted by Istat. Access to the system is open and free of charge. Data are
presented in multidimensional tables; acting on variables, reference periods and the arrangement of heads
and sides, users can create custom tables and graphs. A wide range of metadata facilitates the retrieval and
understanding of statistics by users
How often is the data warehouse of the 2010 Agricultural Census upgraded?
The data warehouse’s contents are constantly upgraded and the number of multidimensional tables is
to be increased in the coming months.
